Daniel Piksiades

July 5, 1931 – March 30, 2024

Mr. Daniel Piksiades, age 92 years of Thunder Bay, passed away peacefully in St. Joseph's Hospital on Saturday, March 30, 2024.

Daniel was born in Kisaĉ, Serbia on July 5, 1931. He immigrated to Canada, and worked at Lakehead University as a Custodian until retirement in 1996. Daniel built a wonderful life and family with his wife, Smiljana and will be deeply missed.

Daniel will be lovingly remembered by his wife of over 55 years, Smiljana; four children as well as his special grandchildren and one great-granddaughter. He is also survived by his beloved nieces, nephews, great-nieces and nephews and extended family. He was predeceased by his parents and his brother Paul.

The family would like to give heartfelt thanks to the wonderful doctors and nurses of St. Joseph's Hospice for all of the care, compassion and comfort given to both Daniel and our entire family.

A Celebration of Daniel's Life will be held on Friday, April 5, 2024 with a come and go reception held between 3:30 and 5:30pm in the EVEREST FUNERAL CHAPEL, 299 Waverley Street at Algoma. A private interment will take place at a later date in St. Andrew's Cemetery.

If friends so desire, donations made to St. Joseph's Hospice or the Canadian Cancer Society would be greatly appreciated.
