It is with deep sorrow, and much love that we mourn the passing of Judy Lynn Evans (Nielsen) of Wauconda, who passed peacefully and surrounded by family on Wednesday, June 26th, 2024, at 58 years old.

She will be lovingly remembered by her husband of 30 years, David Evans Jr; daughter: Rebecca Evans; Step children David Evans III, and Ashley (Josh) Garcia; Mom: Barb Nielsen (Wierer); Brother, Jim (Missy) Nielsen; Sister, Janet (Chris) Beetham; Nieces and Nephews: Haley, Aaron, Grace, CJ, Hannah, Clair, Lucia, and Florence. She will also be missed by her aunts, uncles, cousins, dear friends, and coworkers. She was preceded in death by her loving grandparents Lawerance and Virginia Nielsen, and Melvin and Viola Nielsen, and her adored father Wayne Nielsen.

Judy loved taking care of her family and friends. She was always supportive of them and was their biggest cheerleader. Judy was a cherished member of St. John Lutheran Church in Island Lake, where she was previously the secretary, and a Sunday school teacher. Judy loved to garden and grew the most beautiful flowers. She loved attending to her garden and her yard. She was always very proud of it. Judy was a devoted fan of the Kentucky Derby, and had a fancy derby party every year, complete with mint juleps, stylish attire, and plenty of laughs. Judy loved the Green Bay Packers and loved to remind her family that they only needed to win two games a year! She loved to travel, Judy had been to all 48 lower states, and 7 countries! She loved taking weekend trips to Amish Country, and had fun attending Amish quilt auctions, and enjoying some Amish food. She worked nearly 40 years at Follett, where she worked in the purchasing department. She made many friends, and lasting relationships there.

Visitation will be Saturday June 29th at St. John Lutheran Church in Island Lake, 405 W. State Rd, Island Lake 60042 from 9-12pm, with a funeral service to follow at 12:00pm. There will be a luncheon to follow.

In Lieu of flowers, Judy asks that you plant a tree or plant a perennial; buy a houseplant or a windchime and enjoy the simple gifts that gave her joy.
