William “Billy” M. Weber, Jr, age 61 of Midland, VA passed away after a long illness on Sunday, November 17, 2024 at Lake Manassas Rehabilitation Center in Gainesville, VA. He was born October 23, 1963 in Annapolis, MD. Billy was preceded in death by his beloved wife, Ellen S. Weber and was the son of Caroline “Cookie” Weber of Longs, SC and the late William M. Weber.
In addition to his mother, Billy is survived by his daughter Cassie Halsall and her husband Mathew Halsall of Manassas, VA, his brother Tim Weber of Annapolis, MD and friend Gabi Van Wie, along with members of both his and his wife’s family. He had many nieces and nephews. Billy was a loving, husband, father and friend to many.
His love of airplanes led Billy to a 30+ career with several government agencies. He was a licensed pilot who loved to fly and along with his good friend Dean Nichols spent hours building his own airplane. Billy was also an avid lover of the water and was the captain of his own boats the Maybe Later and Maybe Now. He had countless boating friends and spent many weekends at the marina where he would cruise the Chesapeake Bay, Potomac River and an occasional trip to South Carolina. He was a member of several Yacht Clubs including the Westmoreland Yachting Association and in 2017 was the Commodore of the Lodge Creek Yacht Club.
There wasn’t a project that Billy couldn’t do. He built his own home of 35+ years, which included remodeling of the kitchen, bathrooms and built his home’s decks where he could enjoy his morning coffee with his dog Bailey and take in the wildlife that wandered through his yard. Billy loved to work on planes, cars and motorcycles and was always the first to volunteer to assist family and friends with any projects they needed help with.
Billy was a member of Chapel Springs Church and enjoyed his weekly bible study group.
The family will accept visitors at Moser Funeral Home, 233 Broadview Avenue, Warrenton, VA 20186 on Saturday, November 23rd from 11 am to 1 pm with a memorial service to follow. A celebration of Billy’s life will be held in the spring.
