Michael Orien Rogers, a cherished husband, father, grandfather, and friend, passed away peacefully on May 14, 2025, in Llano, Texas, at the age of 80. Born on February 25, 1945, in Lone Grove, Texas, Michael's life was marked by his unwavering kindness, wisdom, and intelligence.

Growing up in the heart of Texas, Michael attended Llano High School, where he shone as a multi-talented athlete, excelling in football, basketball, and track. His passion for sports was not just a fleeting high school interest; it was a lifelong love that he shared with his children and grandchildren, supporting them at every game and competition.

After high school, Michael furthered his education at Howard Payne and South West Texas State Teachers College. Although he did not obtain a degree, his pursuit of knowledge and his athletic prowess remained a significant part of his life story. In recognition of his athletic achievements and the character he displayed both on and off the field, Michael was inducted into the Llano High School Hall of Fame in 2014.

Michael dedicated 36 years of his career to the Charles Maund Automotive Group in Austin, Texas, where he made his mark in finance credit and rental car management. His colleagues knew him as a man of integrity and dedication, someone who brought not only his sharp intellect to his work but also a sense of camaraderie and support.

Michael's love story with his wife, Charmane Fowler Rogers, was one for the ages. High school sweethearts, their journey together was a testament to their enduring love and mutual respect. After many years in Austin, they returned to their hometown of Llano, where they settled in a picturesque home that boasted a perfect view of their favorite mountain. It was here that they shared many of life's greatest moments, surrounded by the natural beauty of the Texas landscape.

Michael is survived by his loving wife, Charmane; his daughter, Michelle Rogers Berlinger; his son, Christopher Carlisle Rogers; and his adored grandchildren, Chloe Berlinger, Charlize Vega-Rogers, Remy Berlinger, Vivian Vega-Rogers, and Sophie Berlinger. His presence as a guiding force in their lives will be deeply missed but never forgotten.

He was preceded in death by his parents, Ivera and Herman Rogers, and his siblings, Roger Rogers, Bill Rogers, Shirley Ashabranner, Gay Arburthnot, Karen Sue Rogers, Scott Rogers, and Cynthia Decker. Michael's family takes comfort in knowing that he is now reunited with them in eternal peace.

Those who knew Michael will remember him as a man who lived his life with a quiet strength and a generous heart. He was the kind of person who listened more than he spoke, but when he shared his thoughts, his words were filled with insight and care. An avid sports enthusiast, Michael's youthful spirit never faded, and his support for his children's athletic endeavors was unwavering.

In his leisure, Michael could often be found enjoying the simple pleasures of life, whether it was a quiet evening with Charmane or a lively game with his grandchildren. His legacy is one of love, family, and the joy of shared experiences.

Michael Orien Rogers left this world better than he found it, and his memory will continue to inspire all who were fortunate enough to know him. As we say goodbye to this remarkable man, we celebrate a life well-lived and a soul that will forever remain in our hearts.

The family will have a Celebration of Michael’s life Friday, May 16, 2025, at First Baptist Church of Llano. Visitation will begin at 10:00 AM, and Funeral Services will begin at 11:00 AM. Burial will follow at Llano City Cemetery.
