Kay Moore Obituary
Freda Kay Moore born in 1941 in Okemah passed away peacefully on May 6, 2026. Child of Frank and Elizabeth Speir, she grew up in Okemah where she was a member of St. Paul’s United Methodist Church. She graduated from Okemah High School in 1959 and was a member of the High School Band, a member of the Pantherettes, and director of the school play. She married Ernest Moore and together they raised two children Danelle and Frank at their home in Bixby. She worked as a legal secretary for many years until she attended Tulsa Junior College and became a computer programmer. She retired from Tulsa County Assessor's Office as an IT Director. She will be remembered as a woman of strength, kindness, wisdom, and unwavering dedication to those she loved most.
Kay lived a life rooted in compassion, resilience, and service to others. She was known for her warm spirit, generous heart, and ability to make everyone feel welcomed and valued. Whether through her friendships, her devotion to family, or the encouragement she offered others, Kay leaves behind a lasting impact that will continue to be felt for generations.
Throughout her life, Kay treasured time spent with family and friends and found joy in creating meaningful connections with those around her. Her presence brought comfort, laughter, and steady guidance to many. She loved dancing, playing cards with friends, and was a fantastic cook. She was known for her Swiss steak, scalloped potatoes and chicken & dumplings. Her coconut cream pie was outstanding. She enjoyed going out for lunch and shoe shopping at Dillards. She loved education and encouraged everyone to never turn down the opportunity to learn more.
She is preceded in death by her parents, brother Gene Speir, and sister Judy Powell.
She is survived by her husband of 56 years, Ernie Moore, daughter, Danelle Cox and husband Kevin of Bixby, and son, Frank Moore of California. She is also survived by her granddaughter Katelin Zendeh and husband Alex of Austin, her granddaughter Patsy Cox of Ohio, and her great grandson Robin Zendeh and great granddaughter Birdie Zendeh. She is also survived by her brother Charles Speir and wife Betty of Allen, sister Dr. Sue Aber and husband Hal of Broken Arrow and her sister Sallie Fulsom Wright of Atlanta. Her memory will remain a source of inspiration and love to those whose lives she touched.
